In your Personal Folder, you can create, upload, and delete documents as well as view existing files, e.g. those saved to the folder when archiving courses. Only you have access to the files in this folder.


Open personal folder

To open your personal folder, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the small down arrow next to your user name and select the entry Personal folder from the drop-down list.
  2. Your folder opens in a new window.
  3. In the subfolder Archives, you will find all the files that the learning platform automatically saves to your folder.
  4. You can now create additional subfolders and files or upload files.

    The personal folder is only available to authors and only in the desktop version.

Overview

Your personal folder provides a tabular overview of the files and folders you have stored there. Each folder or file comes with information about its name, size, modification date, and licence (if any). You can create new files and folders or upload them from your computer.

All functions of this area are explained in detail in the following section.

Create folder

This option allows you to create a new folder.

Open the relevant course element.

Enter a folder name and optionally add metadata.

Please make sure that the folder name does not contain any of the following characters: " / ` ; : * < and >.

Create file

This option allows you to create a new file and to add it to your personal folder.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Click on the new file icon.

3. Enter a file name and optionally add content.File name and content
4. If necessary, assign a licence and add metadata.Licence and metadata
5. Click on Save to complete the editing process.Save button

Upload file

This option allows you to upload files from your computer to your personal folder.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Click on the upload file icon.

3. Click on Select files to upload files from your computer or drag and drop the desired files into the upload field.Select files button
4. Confirm the upload by clicking on the Upload button.Upload button

Download selected files as a ZIP archive

This option allows you to download files from your personal folder as a ZIP archive.

Open the relevant course element.

Select the files you wish to download by ticking the checkboxes next to them.

Click on the download file icon. The download will start automatically.

If the table contains a large number of entries, it will be displayed over several pages. When downloading selected entries, however, only those entries on the currently displayed page will be downloaded. To download entries from multiple pages at once, first use the Show all function below the table, which will display all existing entries on one page. Then select the desired entries as described above and click on the download file icon.

Copy

This option allows you to copy content.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Select the files you want to copy by ticking the checkboxes next to them.

Move

This option allows you to move content.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Select the files you want to move by ticking the checkboxes next to them.

Delete

This option allows you to delete content from your personal folder at any time.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Select the files you want to delete by ticking the checkboxes next to them.

Edit folder

This option allows you to edit the content of a folder.

  1. Open the relevant course element.
  2. Click on the pencil icon next to the content you want to edit.
