To find content which was shared with you in the system, you can proceed in the following ways:

  • Global search: Resources can be found using the global search function via the search field in the header area of the system.
  • Tab Catalogue: In a static area in the main navigation, you can find catalogued resources.
  • Portlets : Content assigned to you or recently opened content can be displayed in various portlets on the home page .
  • Course search: Using the course search function, you can search for terms within a course. For more information on this topic, please refer to the help section Search course content .

Global search field in the header area 

The global search in the title bar allows you to search for courses, groups, and other learning content. The results will be displayed in a new tab in a tabular overview.

To search for certain content, proceed as follows:

Enter your search term and start the search with Enter or a click on the magnifying glass icon.

All matching search results will be displayed in a table in a new tab.

To narrow your search, you have the following options:

  • Change or adapt keyword query: Start another search run by clicking on the magnifying glass icon .
  • Apply a filter to the categories Title , Description , and  Supervisor : The learning content will be searched for the terms of the activated filters.

  • Advanced search: Click on the small triangle to unfold the advanced functional area.

    • Learning content: You can perform a more differentiated search query for various content types e. g. courses, groups, or certain types of learning resources.
    • Institution: Depending on the configuration of your system, you can also select which institution will be searched for the search term. By default, this will be the institution you belong to.
    • OER-Licences: Show only results with an OER licence.

In the results table, you can sort the result entries by clicking on one of the column titles. In addition, you can configure the displayed columns so that more or less information will be visible.

The individual column configuration will be saved and used for the results display of later searches.

6To directly access an entry, click on the title of the desired entry.

7To return to the overview of the search results, click on the tab  Search .

Please note: Your search results will be restricted to content you are permitted to access.

What will be searched?

You can search the learning platform for the following content:

  • Courses
  • Groups
  • CP learning content
  • Blogs
  • Surveys
  • Glossaries
  • Podcasts
  • Portfolio templates
  • Resource folders
  • SCORM learning content
  • Tests
  • Wikis

Currently, the categories Title , Description and Supervisor are searched.
